Do we really need this thread again? No offense specifically meant to you, Mark, but how come every time some idm act gets coverage in the "mainstream" media, this list goes ballistic?? How many times do we need to listen to those same tired underground vs. mainstream arguments; pretentious assholes claiming idm is too "intelligent" to ever be popular in America; people clogging the list with "PRODIGY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!"; people clogging the list with "MTV SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"?? Because if we continue this way, we will have already lost. Most people on this list would agree that both the prodigy and MTV do "suck." Considering that, we do talk about them (or merely scream about them) a lot. The big record companies and MTV will play their games with dance music just like they did with grunge. We can either let this list turn into just another tool for the music industry to manipulate or we can discuss and help each other find the good, the really good, and the absolutely fucking fantastic music that they don't want us to hear. Apologies to Mark Kolmar for turning this reply into a manifesto. /arjun onnow: Mouse on Mars: Iahora Tahiti
