yeah i could tap into that. the new autechre is all about the
sounds and the rhythms. no more techno, dancefloor bass cadets. don't
get me wrong i love the old stuff too, but autechre has evolved their
sound. the melodic treasures are hidden beneath the timbres. take
"squeller" for example (track3, ep7). the melody is not audible at a
surface level. the new stuff won't "click" at all because you have to dig
into it just to hear it. i personally think like the newer the better.
there are not too many songs more beautiful and moving than "vose in" or
"corc" or "dropp". autechre truly is 'listening' music. it must be
studied to be appreciated. i guess that makes it minimal in the sense that
it is such detailed music. maybe those of you that are not yet into lp5
and ep7 just need to hear more than what you think you hear. take time and
drugs and hear all the richness new ae has to offer.
