i'll prob'ly get in trouble here, but ah well... Kent wrote:

Now I love Labradford, but "originators of the only adventurous genre left in guitar rock?" Isn't that a bit much? as far as tortoise goes, both bands date back to approximately the same time (although the labradford 7" may have predated the first tortoise 7"s)...and, to boot, stylistically, tortoise do pretty different things than labradford. Perhaps one of the greatest things tortoise has done lately is to offer a feasible crossover between rock instrumentation & dj remixing. Labradford was remixed by Jim O'rourke early on, but haven't made a contribution anywhere near that of Tortoise's. Not trying to start a fight here...and i'm sure you all are as tired of relentless tortoise-hype as i am... just offering another perspective. Sorry for the non-idm content. Btw, kent, i dig the reviews, overall. Definitely not enough of those in here. --phil philiphughsherburne brownudeptofenglish *providenceriusofa* 401 .453 .4116 -->our ears are now in excellent condition --john cage
