Hey.. Have gotten 2 packages so far this week.. First one came from Thomas P Heckmann and include records from his trope and afu imprints.. Here's what was in it.. ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. P.S. #2 - "funked up" (a.f.u.014) (red vinyl 12") This one is written and produced by me.. Why I choose to start with this is because I know what's on it.. :) There's 3 trax on it, the a-side is a hardish jackish house tune.. The first on the b-side is a more experimental track with lots of analogue shit going on.. the second on the b-side is a bit more trippy house !? I wont write more about this, since it's done by me and I dont like to promote myself all to much :) --------------------------------------------------------------- Silent breed - "the great cornholio" (a.f.u. 011)(blue vinyl 12") Written and produced by Thomas Heckmann.. The a-side on this 3 tracker is the great cornholio, a track in a red 1 (dave clark) kinda style.. If you are tired playing red 1 & 2 out, try this one.. Could be as big as the red ones.. The first b-side track "motherfunk" is a funky ian poleyish kinda track and the second on b "nothern lights" is a new analogue kick asser in the style of which Thomas is so wellknown.. ---------------------------------------------------------------- j.bomb - "upper street" (a.f.u. 012) (purple vinyl 12") Dont know who's behind this one..This is also a 3 tracker and the a-side track "upper street" is a funky bassey stomper.. the b-side track "no way out" is my fav. one.. Funky drum track with a lot of cool short stabs, and a massive floorfiller.. "o'clock" is another funky track wich sure will rock many floors around the globe beginning of this year.. I know it will rock the floors anywhere I play anyway :) --------------------------------------------------------------- drax six (trope 023) (double red 12", six tracks) The six tracks on this one range from funky detrotish minimal analogue kick ass tracks to minimal experimental electro stylish.. Those of you who thought Ian Pooley did great records, this is a must have for you all... GET it if you find it.. written by Thomas P. Heckmann.. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Metric system (trope 026) (black 12") Another of Thomas Heckmanns minimal anolugue workouts.. I spend some time at his place 2 years back and I tell you, what this guy miss in his anaolgue garden aint worth having.. He has it all.. This 12" is done with a sp-12 + wasp !? Funky, minimal detroit techno in a Robert Hood vein.. Oohh I like it :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Snakecharmer - "sidewinder ep" (trope 027) (blak 12") The producer Miklós Kóvári from ??.. sounds like hungarian or something.. Anyone know ?? Anyway, the 4 tracks is very minimal.. Kinda like trope sounded when it was very experimental.. Guess Thomas wants to bring it back to the old school trope, but I like the new, detrotish style better.. Still, are you into the dark experimental stuff, get this one !! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Trope recordings - "retrospective waves 1993-1996) (double cd compilation) This cd contains works from Thomas himself, Christian Vogel, kimmo rappati, oliver braun and some other producers and the content are the best of trope during these years.. Here's minimal tracks, experimental tracks, acid tracks and half ambient tracks.. I did'nt really like the trope 12"es before, but here are all the greatest and I enjoy this one really much while sitting infront of the comp.. Very relaxing indeed :) ------------------------------------------------------------------ We have now received the complete discography's for AFU, Trope and Thomas, so we'll put that out at Blurred Dot shortly.. We need only the logo's from the man as well.. Also later this week, beginning next, we have soundclips out for the new releases I have written about here.. WE ARE NOW OFFICIAL TROPE/AFU PAGE ON THE WEB ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The second package came from Transmission Communication in Australia.. Well, what can I say about this.. A CD which contains tracks in the trance, experimental, electro, body synth styles.. A wide mixture of styles which maybe they should have narrowed to at least 2 or 3 styles !? Not my cup of tea at all... Anyone in sweden who can make use of this record ? Please send me a mail, telling me why I should send it to you, and I will.. (sweden only please..) --------------------------------------------------------------- Oki, that's all for now.. This was a very hard review to do as I start to get really serious flu symptoms (sweating, shivering etc), but still, it had to be done right :) Take care ya'll and I wish you can escape the flu ! *he* /Pat..
