In a friendly, "ooh, isn't all this web incomptability a bit silly!"
sort of way.

Doesn't bother me.
Look, I've only got a very limited amount of time in which to
maintain by website. I'm not some free-loading student with unlimited
online resources. Essentially, I'm doing it as a hobby -- to please
myself and about half a dozen mates who I know will be interested.
If anyone else wants to read it, they're more than welcome. I've
used Netscape all my onlife life, so I'm going to create a web site
geared towards that browser. Most people I know use Netscape, so
that's good enough for me. If someone from Tibet is trying to access
my site with some text-based Unix browser, I don't want him to start
flaming me by email, complaining that the site's no good for him. No
matter how many disclaimers you put up, some dipstick's always gonna
moan.
So, that's the way it is. If you want to pay me for all the hard work
I'm putting into my web site, then I'll consider writing alternative
versions. But I'm spending my own hard-earned cash on this site, so
I'll do it my own way. If the people who moan at me for neglecting
them aren't going to make it worth my financial while, then they can
basically fuck off. That's the philosophy I've maintained with my
current website and I'm pulling in a steady 500 people a week. If
only 1 of them found my site useful, then I've done my job.
If there's anyone out there who uses Netscape and is a fan of
Autechre/Gescom, Skam, 808 State and IDM in general, then they're
going to find my site useful. That's all there is to it. Take it or
leave -- it's your gain or your loss, not mine.
