i have been mp3ing my tracks for years, before that i mp2-ed them.
personally i dislike the sound of mp3 unless it is way above 128. mp3's
really have a problem with complex singles, if a single instrument
playing it is more accurate then 10 instruments layered. in one of my
tracks the snare drum turned into a trash can. this is all from my
perspective because i know what my song sounds like in detail before it
gets mp3-ed. even though the sound bothers me, it seems listeners don't
care. i have sold 300 of my dam CDs on mp3.com. mp3 is kind of like vhs,
most people just aren't audiophiles.
