-I too missed the IDM-poll message, so here's my 5 (ps--would somebody in the know mind submitting this to the IDM-poll..thank you!) - 1-The Black Dog - Adverts (Warp) - I'll join in with 4th world here in saying that while maybe this isn't something I listen too all that often, it's a fun album...lots of stuff happening. For some reason I too am glad Warp hated it (although why did they put it out?) Fun stuff. 2-Mike Flowers Pops EP (Lo)- More fun. Sure would like to see more releases like this, meaning not-necessarily lounge-techno, but mixtures we might not normally expect 3- Nonplace Urban Field (Incoming) (either the album ('95?) or the EP) Grooves along on another level...I find it hard to get tired of this stuff..Is Incoming this good all around?? 4- NEV web pages (Nevsound / GPR). - I know, I've mentioned them before, but these are truly zany and excellent pages. I say bah to Warp-Net..so much trouble to get around the interface (which only works if you're rich) andthe result is mediocre at best. The Nev pages are peppy and very entertaining, and always changing! One day saw a very funny note blabbing on (nicely) about interesting-people theories (I remember Ken Downie, Desmond Hill, Jamie H., and I believe detroit-Dave Walker mentioned)..and the note was gone that night! Also found a cool BeBox Nev-audio app there (which I haven't been able to try yet) try it: http://www.servtech.com/public/nev 4th world--Any word from GPR on when the much-too-long overdue Nev LP comes out...if at all?? 5- hmm..guess that's all I've got. Add the IDM list as #5-always a true pleasure! (wish I had more money for the all the records discussed here!!) Happy new year in advance everyone! (going home for a week or two) -fp
