Possibly, but there's obviously an audience for it. At the moment, MTV Europe just seems to cater for clubbers. You'll get a few of 'our' type of tracks in there, but they're only usually the ones with *some* commercial potential.

That's true. You can't possibly hope to convey the full complexity of an audio experience within a medium that's geared towards visuals. Although if you think about it, there's no real reason why they couldn't just play something like Boards of Canada's 'Hi Scores' (why does everyone call it 'High Scores'?) against a black backdrop. I think the only way a station like MTV Europe is going to feature the *best* of IDM is if they get the acts in to play live. Whether they can afford it or not is another matter. Personally, my money's on UK's Channel 4. With the demise of shows like 'The White Room', there's now some space for a music show that fully meets the requirements of C4's remit (to show unique shows for specialist/minority audiences). IDM would be perfect.

Well, it's not a term that I normally use. .+'''+. mark@sonance.demon.co.uk M A R K http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/sonance/ `+.,.+' http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/
