No, I wasn't joking in the subject line - has anyone come across any
jungle/D&B where a synth (tonal) sound creates the rhythms? There are a
couple of tunes like this, 'male pill 5/213' by Squarepusher and track 3
on the new Aphex. In both cases a synth sound outlines a melody/bass
line with D&B rhythms that either echo or form a sort of counter point
to the drum parts. Now what I'd really like to hear is a D&B track only
using tonal sounds. That would be interesting.
