It's called "Setting Sun," and like most projects involving Noel
Gallagher, it sounds like a remake of a Beatles song (in this case,
"Tomorrow Never Knows"). This is among the *loudest* CDs I own, and
it's got a kitchen-sink production on it (kinda like the aforementioned
Lennon/McCartney composition, or the KLF's "America: What Time Is Love?"
if you are familiar with that track). It's merely OK (and in places
rather annoying), and it's not much like the Charlatans mixes, really, I
like those much more. Surprisingly, it's not Noel Gallagher that makes
this song any worse than it might be, rather it's the way every
instrument sounds like it's turned up to 11, including what sounds like
a horn imitating an air-raid siren.
The other track on the CD, "Buzz Tracks," is pretty decent, though. I'd
say listen before you buy, if you can.
