There is too much killer music out there! It is making me broke! Here is the cream of the crop that i just got. Anyone out there want to trade a mixtape or two? Electro and funky shit Funkee Ass Breaks Vol One-Cosmic records High fucking tech Miami bass and funky breaks. A very spacey edge to two of the tracks, with some serious vocoders and bass, top notch production, with a lot of cool new rythyms and even a female orgasm or two for the perverts, you know who you are. It is too bad most of that Miami break stuff was not this original sounding. Biochip C-Drop Me-Force Inc a lot of editing, fucking samplefest, crazy shit. This is the kind of stuff where you never know what could come out of the speakers. A few played out samples and drum beats, but the editing and production more than make up for it. Within Sound-C Beam ep-Axodya limited 004 This is some wicked shit. Mama. Minimal electro that grooves hard and sits high above just about everything else. Has some serious tweaky bass synths, and a with a melodic sound that will grow on you. Then there is another track that has a syrupy melody with some bassy beats, reminds me of Jega. Violet-Burn the Elastic-Mantronik remix-Sm;le This is bordering on the commercial side but it is nice to see a mantronik making current sounds. Very funky with some cool effects, and an old school "I know your gonna dig this" sample. Flashdancers on Acid-Shake your money maker/F.D.O.A.-right on your fuckin face mix Definetly inspired by the Chemical brothers, a little more distorted and the acid is a little dirtier. I like it, although this sound is getting to be a little formulaic. Produced by walker and Frank Heiss. .xo9 fzz ep-orbit records 003 Distortion up the backside on this one. Wow. Sounds like Drop bass records meeting some chicago house with some electro. Not too fast, with some nice beats, which are pretty funky. Fireball is the cut for me. Omar Santana-Dark Side of The Shroom remixes-Tricked out recordings Again this is bordering on the commercial side (ie: ravey) but if you like hard electro and funky breaks there are two nice nuggets on here. One is the Simply Jeff remix called Green Mushroom, that has a nice 303, some excellent breaks and a good human beatbox workout. Then there is the Hard hop Beats by the Hard Hop Heathen, which is a bonus beat thing with some nice distorted 808 beats. Event Related Potential-erp ep-Matrix Bleep fest! Lots of analog farting and bass with a definite weird feel to it, pretty abstract, some synthy parts that sound like the theme to a t.v. show. Good stuff with an electro feel. Jungle Ed Rush-Skylab-Metalheadz Massive bass fest, dark as dog droppings, deep as the grand canyon. Like taking a bath inside a subwoofer. File next to Source Direct. Finaly got a copy of Tech Steppin, fucking wicked shit, glad I read about that one on idm. derek
