Geoff, Son, you need to run, don't walk. to your local record store and buy some compilations! You have a lot of listening to do... Here are a couple of comps that are fairly wide-ranging in style, but consistent in quality, at least in my opinion. I'm assuming that you would be listening to stuff on CD. The Rumpus Room (Ninebar NOZACD01) The Future Sound Of Jazz (Compost 017) And finally, don't forget to pick up Blech (Warp 044), which is everything Warpish expertly mixed together by the Coldcut people. When you get those, read the credits of the songs you like really carefully, and note the songwriter(s) and the labels. These two items of information are what will allow you to find good stuff in the future. -Phil [----------] [---] [-----] [-----] [-----] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [----------] [----------] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [---] [--------] [-----] [-----] [---] [-----] [----------] Home is where the stereo is!
