A few months ago, the owner/founder of Waxtrax! died of AIDS. This will probably have some impact on the domestic releases of Warp. I doubt that TVT will continue to release Warp and I am not sure of the current status of Waxtrax! records. I am surprised that this is not well known. It was a great loss of a person who had a major impact on electronic music in America that assuradly co-influenced(alongside hip-hop and electro) the interest in idm and inspiration in many of america's electronica composers. I thought of the domestic Warp issues as a way for Waxtrax! to catch up with what was happening in electronic after the label fell behind for a few years. The Warp releases were evidence that Waxtrax! never lost sight of a vision of pioneering electronic music. Steve
