What?! This is my favorite venue in LA. I've seen The Orb, Portishead, Massive Attack, Luscious Jackson, The Charlatans, and the Prodigy (I know, but it was free) all at the American Legion hall and everytime the sound has been good to incredible (Massive Attack and The Orb's fucking awesome sound equipment). If the sound was bad it was surely the fault of the boys behind the desk that night. BTW, they used to hold meetings for the Directors guild there back in the 40's. It's where where John Ford stood up to C.B. Demille during the blacklist and said "I'm John Ford, I make westerns..." History and a cool place, what more do you want?
