It all started out with the human voice and it will always find its way
back. A few artists are ahead of the trend here -- too many to list.
You might want to look into the last 2 Underworld albums, for example. A
lot of discussion has been about their remixes, but I think the albums are
the core of their material.
Or if you want to take a step way outside the IDM arena, how about John
Cage/David Tudor _Indeterminacy_ from 1959?
