Planet E has seemingly reissued "Bug in the Bassbin" 12", which I believe is also forthcoming on MoWax. This 12" has only 2 tracks and no remixes: it's just the original and the jazz version. It comes in a nice crimson sleeve featuring the giant bug (darn, what were they called? not the ohmu...) from the classic manga "Nausicaa". I prefer the jazz version; both have a slightly military-jazz snare drum and sweeping synths, and might fit in on his (Carl's) 69 comp on R&S. The nice thing about the 12" is of course being able to play it at 33 (the instructed speed) as well as 45 - and finally see what all the hype on this being played in jungle clubs is all about. It does make a pretty sweet jungle track at 45. FYI, I saw one more copy at Rasputin in Berkeley. They also had (if you dig like I had to) Herbert 12"s with Birds, Point Blank 12" with Herbert remix, Stupid Girl remix 12" by Red Snapper and Dreadzone, Evolution Presents the Horn 12", Photek's TRaenon 12", and some other IDM-worthy stuff.
