This 2LP is a mixture of brilliance and utter confusion. The tempos are all over the place often times within the same track. This makes much of the record useless from a djing perspective. The motif is jazzy with the beats dubby bouncing to breaks and backagain with brief stops in the 120s. Songs like _purrfect_ and _venus_ are so trance-inducing. Other songs are way too frenetic for my tastes but overall its worth it.

This 2LP is totally a totally amazing concept album that really holds together as a cohesive piece of work. Dark and Spooky with most beats below 100bpm. Songs like _Tow Truck_ and _Wilmot_ are so funky and dark. At times a bit noodly and treble heavy. I thought it one of last years best lps.

This mystified me. Why warp reissued it is beyond me. Put the new stuff out and leave old tunes rest. OF course musically it is really tight. The style is much more trance and much quicker than "Haunted". It has several tunes which I consider to be all time classics of the warp sound. If you don't have I by all means get II.
