Well, first off, it's not "trip hop" or "idm" or "acid jazz" or any of that -- Dr. Octagon is merely some pretty damn good hip hop with excellent DJ work (doesn't Q Bert do some DJ work on this record?). As people have previously mentioned on this _very_ list (the last time someone asked about the quality of this album *cough*), Dr. Octagon is none other than Kool Keith of the late Ultramagnetic MCs, and he managed to engage my interest for the entire album with his well-put-together and often quite humorous rapping (unlike most recent hip hop *wanders off into moaning digression about how hip hop has gone downhill, things were so much better in the old days, kids these days, etc.*). lovable, bubbly ozymandias . . . the self-reflecting image of a narcotized mind . . . ozymandias G desiderata ogd@organic.com Desperate, Deathless (415)278-5674 http://www.organic.com/Staff/ogd/ ::AOAIOXXYSZ::
