You're probably referring to the new age travellers that are central to the Goa wave that has hit the U.K. Sorry for forgetting that people with Dreadlocks must have shite taste in music. I'm gonna call the fashion police right away. What you heard about the DAT's was that they Mix off DAT. They can't do much in the way of pitch adjustment, so beatmixing is not very central to a Goa set, the mixes come with those completely ludicrously insane spacey bits.
