Here you go: [taken from URB issue no.48, pg.46] Threads ------- (IDM) Threads is yet another brilliant example of how the Internet is changing the shape of a young post-modern society. This is a compilation of "intelligent dance music", created entirely by members of the Internet mailing list of the same name. Intelligent dance music is one of those vague blanket descriptions that allows for many different definitions and there are nine varied answers herein. From the driving beats and haunting melodies of TV-99-AD's "Mother G" to the almost beatless sound collage of Quanta's "Space", Threads succeeds in weaving quite a diverse tapestry of music. My personal favorites were the moody chord progressions laid over a funky breakbeat on Seofon's "Scharae" and the hypnotically acidic repetitive rhythms of Xima-Phi's "Tam-Tam". If you're an enthusiast of electronic music than you will really appreciate the experimentations of sound as music taking place on this CD. If you're unfamiliar with this flavor of the funk, then Threads will expose you to just how smart your music can be.
