this is off topic, but should be a matter of gravest concern for all.
tinnintus is not reversible. you have just damaged your ears PERMANENTLY.
you have lost a little bit of high-end perception that you will never ever
get back.
it used to be that i'd go to a show and leave with my ears ringing. now i
get treated to it outside of shows - every once in a while i suddenly lose
all hearing in my left ear - all i hear is a high pitched ringing tone.
this is a symptom of tinnitus, and i will have it for the rest of my life.
wear ear plugs to concerts or stand well back from the speakers. way too
many sound systems are set up poorly. despite the "cool" attitude of some
people, there *is* such a thing as TOO LOUD. if you're worried about
looking like a dork, buy a set of custom-molded flesh colored ear plugs.
personally i wear huge flourescent green ones and figure that people will
think my head is part of the light show or their drug hallucinations.
i know you want to be able to enjoy all this wonderful music later on, so
take care of your ears now. it's the only chance you will have.
sorry to preach,
