i also don't know whether ata tak still exists, but first and foremost ata tak (art attack in its original incarnation) was the headquarters of "der plan" (the german "residents" as they are sometimes called) out of duesseldorf who were very influential back then when german bands got interested in fusing electronics with a punk approach in about 1980, later turning into a pop thingy called "neue deutsche welle". they also released other stuff, like dorau's debut and the first deutsch amerikanische freundschaft lp; i'm not sure about their involvement with palais schaumburg though (gotta check at home). greets, p. on last: mille plateaux 26 (with jaki liebezeit on drums)
