Kinesthesia-Empathy Box Rmxs EP Cat 022 EP 'flicklife'(Cyclob Mix) 'flicklife'(U-Ziq Mix) 'sanq'(Autechre Mix) 'trachus'(Aphex Twin Mix) Almost decent remix EP, the best of the litter is the Autechre remix of 'sanq', really downbeat, laidback vibe, and Aphex's remix of 'trachus', distorto n all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neal Landstrumm-Inhabit The Machines EP Peacefrog 044 'blam the target' 'sniff and destroy' 'boost controller' 'd's attack' Neil never ceases to amaze me, and this EP urges one to get BROWN BY AUGUST, his debut full-length on Peacefrog. With the extensive use of 909 kicks, distortion, and the (presumed use of) the "mars to ???" preset from my beloved DX-100, Neil produces Hardcore Destroito like no other from his country. In a new school sense, of course! Highlights were 'blam the target' and 'sniff and destroy'. Buy it today! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Missing Channel-Submerged EP Hardwax 006 'gold' 'search' 'legion of hunger' '2' 'gold' comes off like '91-'92 detroit techno, Generator/U.R. style, with its anthemic style motorcity synth. '2' is a crafty, hypnotic little ditty that shines much brighter than the other tracks. Thank God someone had the decency to bring this excellent label back to life. Where is the new material from H-Bomb, Dr. Kevorkian, and Robert Noise??? Get IT!!!!! Oh, I do have H-Bomb's 'radar'/'tracking device'(HW 002) available for dubs if anyone is interested... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wyndell Long-She/Dinner Is Ready Peacefrog 045 'she' 'razzmatazz' 'asphasia' 'dinner is ready' 'midnight sarada' Chicago jackin' house from Wyndell Long, mainly more for us "textured" DJ's who like to play some soulful breaks, and fillers in between more structured, and involved house sets. I loved 'asphasia', and 'midnight sarada'. This is a taster for me, as I'm getting ready to do my head in with Glenn Underground's ATMOSFEAR album on Peacefrog. Good. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cybotron-Clear/Industrial Lies Fantasy Records(Repress) Just what I had expected. Most of us have heard 'clear', but I've never come across 'industrial lies', the vocal sung by 3070. I remember this from somwhere, though. Both excellent quality electro prototechno. Good Repress, too! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cybotron-Cosmic Cars/Alleys Of Your Mind Fantasy Records 'cosmic raindance' 'cosmic cars' 'alleys of your mind' 'R-9' This was the best purchase for me for quite awhile. I love this piece of vinyl, and I urge you to bug the hell out of your record shops to get it. 'cosmic cars' with the Juan Atkins vocals is a freaky, electro-filled track, and will get many people wishing they had a "cosmic car" to drive back to 1980, and start all over again. For the big surprise, I remember a friend giving me a 7'' with 'R-9' on it, and I think this record is what got me into the early industrial sounds of Ministry, and Frontline Assembly. It's sounds just like them! I sware!!! I love 'R-9', the best track from Cybotron, with the exception of 'techno city'. Cheers to you, Rick and Juan! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derek Jordan P.O. Box 2611 Denver, CO 80201-2611
