sorry to keep up the thread but I just got Subliminal Sandwich....dope as fuck. I am a huge MBM fan and admit I was somewhat bummed upon hearing the Transmission single. Not bad, but nothing killer which is what I expected from ole Jack. When I picked up SS, I was stoked it was a 2 CD set. The first disc is just solid MBM, lots of distorted filters, slowed and thick breakbeats, and some minimal lyrics (oh yeah lots of samples of course). Glad to see some kind of 'freeform' jazz thing going on in a few tracks. This CD would stand by itself as just plain good (sort of like FSOL's ISDN)....(won't say the TH word)....BUT the 2nd CD.... holy shit....this is what makes this set a must have. Just really stretched textures and atmospheres over some rhythms and samples; Jack et al are really playing with your psyche on this one. Sort of like those tracks on the NOW single only extended over 70 min; this disc has has that lulling vibe that SAW II has on me.... The 2 discs combined give you the perfect IDM combo IMHO...extroverted aggressive dance/groove jams on CD1 and introverted eerie chill sounds on CD2....definitely get this set... peace- Nate Harrison DIGITAL MAGICIAN http://www.globalwise.com/DIGIMAGICIAN/ WWW Authors and Electronic Imaging Specialists
