Two months ago I spent 4 hours in a dark room, on E, listening to I Care Because You Do while creating animated swirling fractals on a fedback camera signal, theorizing chaos everywhere and the birth of various new lifeforms. Of course, everytime I listen to it now my heart skips a beat. :) Instructions: Point a good-quality videocamera at a monitor that's displaying the camera's output, thus creating the usual feedback phenomena. Move the camera so that it is not exactly parallel to the ground; the pattern will change to a spiral, or something like that. Now play around with focus, exposure, and negative/positive settings; at a certain point the pattern will start to move, creating the most beautiful fractal patterns you've ever seen. You can go on fiddling with the controls forever, or moving your hands in front of the lens in order to affect the pattern. Highly addictive.
