Mantronix is definitely one of the electro pioneers in my book. I'm glad you mentioned them, since they seem to get little credit today (granted, they did turn into a cheese-ridden r&b group later in their career 8( ). Anyone out there who hasn't heard "Bassline" from their debut self-titled album, should check it out. Try to get the Bassline 12" if you can on Sleeping Bag records also. The B-side has the instrumental version, which is still great to listen to, since you can bypass the sometimes irritating raps of MC Tee and stick to the electro grooves of Mantronik. Also recommended for anyone thinking about delving into Mantronix is their album _Music Madness_, which has some choice cuts. +----------------------------------+ | Eric Frans | | franse@bigdog.engr.arizona.edu | +----------------------------------+
