For original eighties chicago acid check out one of the retro acid comps that have been coming out recently (anything with trax by Phuture, Armando, Hot hands Hula or Jack Frost is a good pointer) . this stuff is really sparse and raw. For a more trancey take check out Hardfloor's early stuff on Harthouse (before they got formulaic adn started remixing averyone and his brother). For some killer hard stuff check out the various Universal indicators on Rephlex, and anything by Kosmik Kommando. (though some of his stuff is really mellow too) Also wicked are the Acid Rain EPs on UR, though these may be hard to find now.
