A few points on this: It wasn't actually a single, according to one story it was recorded as a radio jingle for Bosnian radio (seems a bit long mind you) and it was a track on the "HELP" compilation in aid of Bosnia. It wasn't officially created by the KLF, or the K-Foundation (their current incarnation), but I believe that the fact is confirmed, though I do not know what evidence actually confirms it. The track was also used in the "documentary" about the burning of the million quid and this film was put together by the KLFs own people, further confirming their involvement in the track. By contrast there is as yet no real evidence of K-F or KLF involvement in the 1300 drums record, just rumour and speculation based on the "featuring the Unjustified ancients of M U" bit on the sleeve. Just remember that the sort of people who are putting this about are the same sort of people who tried to tell me the other week that Motiv8 == Altern8, and the same sort of people who used to put stickers saying "Aphex Twin" on all Rephlex releases. In terms of tackiness, indeed "the Magnificent" is a fairly jokey record but it hangs together really well imo and has that (possibly indefinable) KLF quality of grandiose production, which is just absent in the 1300 drums thing, which manages to sound like a fairly crap sample-house meets italo-disco-house thing from about 1988. Yeah OK you might say that's what "What Time is Love" etc. sounded like but imo there is a difference. Sorry to go on, perhaps all interested parties should repair to the klf list? J ^ obIDM I second those who praised the Jega EP. I was well surprised to find it contained 7 tracks! Nice melodies and interesting beats in a afx/uziq kinda style. Thanks to Ambient Soho (quickest mailorder I ever came across!) J ^
