Here's a brief review of the Orbital / Mikey P gig last night;
(Glasgow Barrowlands) :
don't expect track names or equipment lists - I'm not sure!
Mike P's set was great; he played some Jake Slazenger stuff
but most of it was weird junglistic stuff, one of which was
over a slowed-down track off Tango 'n' Vectif. Best by far
though, was a well smart track from Bluff Limbo which went
down well.
In the break they played Kraftwerk & (just before Orbital
came on) a James Bond theme (don't know which one, but it
was great coming out of the bass bins!)
Orbital's set was O.K., I'm not a great fan of their latest
stuff (apparently they played most of in-sides & several mixes
of The Box : to me it all sounded a bit repetitive & slow)
but the best bits were the obligatory ones : Halcyon with the
now-legendary Belinda Carlisle break, Satan, stuff off the
Brown album and Chime!
Hopefully Greggy-303-meister will give you all the correct
transcription, but for now if you can catch this tour do,
and make sure you give the support some support!
On now : Reedin (Redone)
