An excerpt from Lou Reed's interview by Johnny Davis, from
_The Face_ No. 92, May 1996:
JD: "What's better dance to, techno or jungle?"
LR: "Last time when I was in England I asked people to get me
a whole bunch of compilations of jungle music, so I found
out what that was. There's this group which records under
the sign of the Greek letter mu."
JD: "Do you mean Mu-Ziq? It's actually just one guy..."
LR: "It's one guy? Holy shit. What a drum sound. Boy that kid
is good. That's a great record. That to me is incredibly
exciting. I mean that was not going on years ago. I mean when
you ask what I listen to get myself hopping, I throw that on.
I really like that."
And so on. Maybe we'll hear some day those famous first chords
of the Velvets' "Sunday Morning" on the next Mu-Ziq record,
when Mike returns the compliment :)
