quoted 5 lines I just heard Robert Miles' track "Children" on South Florida's Power 9>I just heard Robert Miles' track "Children" on South Florida's Power 96 >(96.5 FM). This is one of the cheesiest radio stations in South Florida >as they tend to play only what's new and hot and very much mainstream. I >wonder what this says about the future of electronic music? More >importantly, I wonder what this says about Miles' song? Anyone?
It says enough about Miles' song: It is complete crap. Far worse, other crappy producers are making almost exact copies including the video's which include children and streets which pass by. Ofcourse is it filmed in black & white, as is the original video. Pathetic really. ...As for the future of electronic music: Here in Holland much of the music which is mainstream is electronic. And it is VERY commercial & f*cking anoying too. It it just pathetic that acts like 2unlimited [thankgod they're finished] and Gabba/happy hardcore DJs are considered by the large public as techno. Artists like Aphex Twin, Blackdog, Model 500 etc. remain underground, and are being labeled as "vague" by the large public, just because they aren't for sale in the mass-record shops or some large recordcompany executive thinks that it won't sell. The problem is that some ignorant c*nts, who never listened to a real techno record, complains that house/techno music is stupid/comercial/for naive people or whatever. I guess that will be the situation in the US sooner or later too.; comercial dance music at it's height in the charts, and underground remaining underground. Bye.
