It's a really basic monophonic analog synth sound. I have a tape
of a Radio 1 Kraftwerk special (thanks to Matt MacQueen &
rww3) where the presenter spent a fair amount of time
talking to Andy McCluskey (I think.) He talked about how huge
an influence Kraftwerk was on them.
