Vintage vocoders are preferred for sonic quality, but a good one in good shape can be $1K or more. The vocoding effect is available from some digital units (the Boss SE50, Boss SE70, Korg Wavestation AD). PAIA makes a kit you can assemble yourself (www.paia.com). Tell those music store guys to piss off; if they knew anything they could have told you what I just did. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Every revolution evaporates and leaves behind only the slime of a new beauracracy -- Franz Kafka Kent Williams kent@inav.net (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)
