btw, I just thought of something: Harold Budd, whose music closely resembles Satie's, in a contemporary ('74 piano works esp come to mind) of Eno (and collaborator) who perfectly fills the gap between Satie (+Stockhausen) and Eno. Budd, however, never seemed too concerned with labelling his music as anything as far as I can tell.
