snip--------------------------------------------------------------------- This song is no more commercial then Jedi Knights remixes of Link or Juan Atkins or something it that vein, it just happened to be one of those songs that got played out a shitload due to the label it was on (Strictly Rythym), and cause it was by hyper hyped man of the 6 month ago moment Josh Wink, it was fairly original and I will admit it was pretty damn good too, I try not to dog something simply because it is popular, unless of course it sucks shit :). Sometimes I think a few of the list members would praise and worship 55 minutes of dog farting if it came out on Warp or Rephlex. Higher State of conciousness got popular also cause it was identifiable (the time stretched voice saying "Higher State of Conciousness"), you can't expect the average Joe-non-trainspotting-idm-freak to be able to identify songs that are all 303's and blips and bleeps, but if you have a nice identifiable sample as the title of your track joe-consumer can walk into the shop and ask "what is the song that has the funny keyboard noise that goes wha wha whoo whoo swissh swissh bleep bleep" "Huh?" says the shopkeep "It also says "Higher State of Conciousness or something like that," "Higher State of Conciousness, by Josh Wink, there should be about 300 of them on aisle 5, right next to Slim Whitman." You know a band like Consolidated knows the value of making their songs identifiable, "Consolidated" Consolidated con sol i dated.....now that is what I would call commercial.....reminds me of one of those TV commercials "whattya eating?" "Nuttin honey" "what are you eating" "Nut and Honey" "WHAT ARE YOU FUCKING EATING?" you get the point Derek 0--\___/--\___/---0 moses@teleport.com 0--\_______/--------0
