Sorry, this is a bit of endulgement on my part, but
the fact is here in Winnipeg, no one as big as
Autechre or Spacetime Continuum has ever played a
gig here so when I recieved this fax I nearly lost
it. The fellow that sent me the fax asked me to
forward part of it electronically to some local
groups, which I did but I would also like to post
a bit of it here as well, thanks:
It seems to be finalized! Winnipeg will play host to a wonderful
evening coustesy of Brown & Booth of Autechre (Warp), Jonah Sharp
of Spacetime Continuum (Astralwerks, Reflective), and Mark Broom
of Self-referencial, Repeat (with the Plaid guys), and various
other incarnations on the decks. The date? A Friday in March
(don't ask why I don't remember the exact date; it's been a
long day...). This is now the time where the individuals in
this city who care about the quality of sounds entering their
ears, finnally get some dessert after the sour taste left by the
main course of being stuck in the middle of the prairies where
no one interestion (within the musical parameters of there biased
ears) seems to drop by (and no wonder considering how much of a
human spawning ground we seem to be...; you get birthed, you
leave for a bigger city around 20, and then return for
your pension around 50).
