At the Tromsoe International Film Festival (22nd to 28th jan 96), BIOSPHERE
and MENTAL OVERDRIVE will perform specially composed music to the russian
silent movie "The Man With The Film Camera" by Pziga Vertov (1929).
The film is one of the main works in russian formalism, and was revolutionary
in its montage techniques. In the original manuscript, the score contains
elements which makes modern sampling techniques suitable, like fabric sirenes,
radio noise, childrens crying etc.
This is the first time Biosphere and Mental Overdrive work together since the
early days of Tromsoe techno, when Per Martinsen helped out on a few tracks on
the BLEEP-album.
The film/concert will be shown twice during the festival.
