Chapterhouse was one of the semi-dream pop/post My Bloody Valentine bands
that were momentarily big 2-3 years ago. Otheres in this genre-let were
bands like Moose, Swervedriver, the Lilys, the Swirlies etc.
They were nothing to write home about IDM-wise. Global Communication have
gone on record as having hated Chapterhouse. The blood music remixes were
based on just shreds of the original music.
More germane pop acts are (of course) early Depeche Mode, Erasure, New
Order, Human League, etc, etc. Some of the industrial dance stuff (the
things that aren't so charred flesh and gristle oriented) like Nitzer Ebb
has it's tasy moments as well.
