Picked these up from CDNow last weekend: u-Ziq - In Pine Effect (Astralwerks) 12 tracks, 71+ minutes I had heard from listmembers that this was an inferior work compared to Tango 'n Vectif. I was pleasantly surprised. This album is quite similar to TNV, with many standout tracks. Within a Sound, Dauphine, Funky Pipecleaner and Iced Jem are quite good. Green Crumble is a 1920's-sounding track straight out of an old-time saloon, with u-ziq-ness on top of it. Even Roy Castle is starting to grow on me. (8/10) ------ Omni Trio - Music for the Next Millenium (Sm:)e) 12 tracks, 69+ minutes I didn't have a jungle CD, so I decided to get one. I had heard many jungle compilations, and they all sucked rocks. But when I had heard about Omni Trio from my buddy, I gave it a listen, and it was actually good! Nearly all of the tracks are pretty wicked, with Renegade Snares, Together, and Living for the Future being xtra wikkid. Recommended for first time junglers and jungle fans. (8/10) ------ Drum Club - Live in Iceland (Instinct) 8 tracks, 1 hour I am not a real fan of the Drum Club, but this CD was on sale for only 8 bucks, so I picked it up. There's no crowd noise that I can hear, so that's a bonus. It's pretty good, but I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't on sale. There are some parts which are kinda acidy, not really danceable, but good for listening. (6/10) -boB (-:
