the danger is in playing them on an amp that doesn't have a high enough
power rating, especially if you crank the music. you will wind up clipping
the signal which can hurt the amp and the speakers. speakers are unlikely
to blow if they are fed a good clean non-clipping signal (and of course
they are properly rated for your setup)
