Although I realise Hardfloor is (pretty mindless) trance/techo and not IDM, I am captivated by a track called "Alternative" on their cd "Funalogue" and thought someone else might have heard it as well. It's as if they took one of the melodies hidden in the layers of a Steve Reich piece (or, even more so, Terry Riley's Poppy Nogood saxaphone loops) and added the usual frantic techno beats to it. But the drum beats are off the beat of the melody loop and it is an amazing feeling. It's mimimalism meets acid. And nothing else they've done comes close to being this interesting.
