Talking abiut Soho shops, Ambient Soho is a lot better than it used to be. I went in there the other day also, found it far too expensive in comparison to the other selectadiscs, but the bloke behind the counter knows what he's talking about, and isn't afraid to spin a few discs for you, or you're welcome to listen to them through headphones. It had a copy of the recent Universal Indicator 12", 10" + 7" pack on replex with carrier bag as well for #10 if anyone's interested. Selectadisc definately gets me thumbs up. Sister ray has got some amazing records, you can often pick up rare rephlex/R&S/Harthouse etc.. at very reasonable prices. I'm glad somebody cleared them out before I got there, I thought they were getting lax. Maybe next time i'll get there first. As for HMV (utter repugnance) I managed to get two CD's for #3.99 each, the Infonet comp 'Usibility now' and a Drum and Bass comp called 'Spectrum', which features stuff from Goldie and a track called 'ChillOut' by Alex Reece which if my memory serves me right is CO----OOOl. As for Virgin (still Utter Repugnance!!!) I managed to pick up a Delerium recs split 10" featuring a track by Redeye, The first 'Maiden Voyage' 12" by Global Comms and a Universal groove 4 track comp 12" of trance, as well as an out of romford album. So even though the corporate shops appaul me so, they do have alot of bargains. Also, Sometimes Vinyl Experience down Hanway St. Just around the corner from Virgin, has some Vinyl Bargains for dance stuff, I've managed to buy lots of warp and harthouse stuff there for very reasonable prices. It's just a look in, not a treck to, type of shop. Restoraz???? I know now that restoraz is RAZ, who has recorded under the names Solitaire Gees, ie slumberland also from the same warp range, Also Jaco. Apparently lots of his stuff is released through Fourth Wave Records in Huddersfield. I haven't found any more info yet. Any one who can further this investigation, go for it. Info on fourth wave records? Thanks Nick.
