And it works! (seriously, my friends and I used to create chirpy industrial dance sounds by doing almost the same thing and playing it through a synth. Works good with a minimal drum machine like a TR-505, and an easily programmable synth like an ESQ-1. I'm certain it's the way a lot of bands created the same type of sound :-) ObIDM-in-Minutes-or-less: Jeff Thorne and I created a very plastikman-sounding tune the other night in less than 10 minutes. The sum track total of all the parts (before looping) was maybe 16 measures, and the tune could have gone on forever. I'm also certain we could have convinced the average person that it was a Plastikman tune.
