The September Future Music (Limey Musician's Mag) is worth a look
for a couple of reasons even if you're not a Synth Anorak -- decent
Juan Atkins interview and a demo that bears repeated listening:
Animus "Solo" by Mark Barton. Fun percussion, analogue swells,
an endearingly annoying one-note ostanato, and wonderfully morose
melody played at the sweet-spot setting of a SH-101.
If his other stuff is anywhere this good, he should be signed soon.
Oh, and there's a track off the new Mouse On Mars as well.
And rest assured their musical tastes are not in sync with most
of the IDM list people -- they panned "Reflections on Reflections"
by As One.
