Eevo Lute Muzique PO Box 2169 5600 CD Eindhoven The Netherlands phn: +31-40-(2)434036 fax: +31-40-(2)434016 e-mail: eevo@iaehv.nl max 404, Love & Mathematics, info Love & Mathematics, two of the most fundamental and intriguing human qualities. Like the tracks on this album these concepts may appear to have little in common. Not according to Max 404's Erwin van Moll, 'For me it's natural to listen to all kinds of music (from contemporary classical music to hardcore acid, from ambient to jungle, from Pet Shop Boys to industrial avant-garde act SPK). So, when making music, I also see no reason to restrain myself to just one style. It's true that the album contains a variety of styles and moods, which some may even describe as unbalanced. I'd rather use the term eclectic. Making music is a constant exploration.' The album was made with an absolute minimum of equipment (an unexpanded EMAX II and an Atari 1040 ST). Erwin van Moll is not a disciple of the technocratic principle 'more machines, more music', but this challenging limitation is more a consequence of his bank account than his ideology. Erwin van Moll lives in Valkenswaard where he went to school with Harold de Kinderen (Acid Junkies) and Tjeerd Verbeek (Trance Induction). Erwin van Moll is currently forming a group of 6-8 musicians to further broaden his musical horizon. Before releasing this album, he has done E.P.'s on Eevo Lute, DJAX and Prime (see discography). Max 404's live performances include Funki Bizniz (Eindhoven), Stalker (Haarlem), Mazzo (Amsterdam), Melkweg (Amsterdam), the Arches (Glasgow) and the Jyvaskila Arts Festival in Finland, accompanied by a string orchestra.
