Sorry for covering old ground, at least in part. Anyone know the gen on obtaining the Gavin Bryars/Aphex Titanic thingy in the UK? The original was japanese right? I don't want to spend japanese import prices, but I understand there's a US release deal now. What about a domestic :) UK release, anyone? J ^ Stuff to check out: Brad Strider - Bradley's beat. Promos on the street. This is RDJ, right? Falls between Detroit and regular (if there is such a thing!) AFX sounds. Features an oversize label, but not on the promo, though there is no run-out groove and loads of space. Dope on Plastic 2. Another chapter of "trip hop". Pretty much a top class LP, including an exclusive Red Snapper track, "Area 51" - not the first time that title's been used :-) Elecktroids - ElektroWorld. Buy it. This has _really_ grown on me in the few short weeks I've had it. Nightmares on Wax - Smoker's Delight. As good as the reviews would have you believe. "Introlude" is a re-take on "Night's Interlude" from their first LP, totally enforcing any claims that they truly were innovators. Kinesthesia Vol 2. Strong stuff for hard-head idm nutters. Now why didn't I see vol 1 out there. Were these put on the streets at the same time? Macro Dub Infection. Yes, some "real" (trad) dub, some dubby jungle some dubby trip-hop stuff and some downright weird stuff make up one of the more interesting of recent compilations. Ultradyne - E Coli. More Electro in the vein of Drexciya / Plaid / Elecktroids & co. New Order - (The rest of). Ltd ed CD pack includes extra remixes of Blue Monday, including the Plastikman remix which never saw the light of day in the UK. Unfortunately many of the mixes on the main CD have already been released, and many of them are rather routine housey stuff, plus 2 of the new remixes (Everythings Gone Green by Dave Clark and another track by CJ Bolland) are only on the Vinyl, which is only a 6-tracker, not particularly good value at a tenner. But interesting and varied overall, what with Pump Panel and Howie B joining the fray alongside Hardfloor, Perfecto etc. Pete Namlook - Summer. The last of the 4 seasons ambient set, at long last. Very mellow and rather excellent, plus very good value at only UKP7 for 60 minutes of quality.
