You can wring a lot of PR out of pleasantly chatting up the music
press. Near as I can tell every reporter in the english speaking
world wants to have their baby.
Note well that few of them feel as warmly about Richard James at this
point. I'm sure he's a nice enough guy to his mates, but he comes
off in the press like the fucking troll who lives under the bridge.

It's a whole sub-genre of album art. I believe the art directory
goes
to a commercial art service and asks to go through the stuff from
the 60's. Incidentally, the guys at the record store had a field
day trying to figure out if the cover picture (of the two hippies)
is old or contemporary and staged. I give the nod to old -- it
wouldn't be tough to find the cars (A Mercury Comet and a Ford
Galaxie 500) but the guys in the Comet have a real 60's redneck look
to them. Check out that squirrely little Cowboy hat.
