i found a cd called "trancewerk express" at a denver shop. the liner notes
said that it was a tribute to kraftwerk. it contains songs by kraftwerk,
such as the model, computer world, etc. and each song is listed with the name
of an artist (or remixer?) i did not recognize any of the artists except
"kirk" which i suppose would be richard h., although it didn't really sound
like him. there were no credits to the artists beyond the short listing with
the song titles and no official credits to kraftwerk. it is on "hypnotic"
which is a division of caroline. are these remixes or covers? any info on
this release? is it really richard h. kirk?
by the way--most all of the tracks are up-tempo blippy little acid numbers
retaining most of the original melodies, but different sounds, and more
dance-oriented beats. all in all it's quite a bit better than "the mix" but
not nearly as good as the original versions.
also, i don't know if anyone has mentioned the "chill out or die america"
compilation on rising high usa/moonshine. this would seem to be the
beginning of rising high's usa affiliation. well, with wagon christ, syzygy,
air liquide, rhc, irresistible force, bedouin ascent, neutron 9000 and
jammin' unit (discovers chemical dub), i strongly reccomend this release to
those in the usa. all this for a domestic price!
