This just in from Portable Palace:
A supplement to the Whitney Museum sound art festival (Jan 11 -16),
PSYCHO-ACOUSTIC EVENT will be an evening of multi-directional sound
installations, exploring some of the more cerebral tendencies of sound art
from the 1950's to the present. There will be 4 installations, all of which
will include live performers. Among the main highlights of the event will be
John Blackford's exquisite collection of modular synthesizers, one of the
rarest and largest in the world.
The event will take place on February 4, 8 PM to Midnight at Roulette, 228
W. Broadway.
Artists: Morton Subotnick, Taylor Deupree, Alexander Kalin, John Blackford,
Dmitry Gelfand.
