Sorry for the cross post but I have a feeling at least one of these
records is Dutch.
I picked up a few good ones yesterday folks! Here goes:
2000 And One cat. no. PURE8 on 100% Pure
Another excellent spaced out record from 100% Pure. This one is nice and
chilled out. I'm making a tape to listen to in my car for the long drive
from San Francisco to San Diego. These soft tracks fit in just
perfectly. Intricate subtle changes keep the listeners interest while
teasing the mind to drift off to places unexplored. Keep an ear out for
this one. There are some hidden unexpected sounds in there.
The 4th Wave - Touched on Planet E
Another great dance track to grace Planet E. I like this one so much
that I'm tempted to bring it with me to the next local small little
shindig and force one of my DJ friends to play it. It's one of those
loud sound system type of tracks. You can imagine how it would rock the
speakers if it was pumping out a massive stack.
Biochip C. - Kaori on Force Inc.
Electro acid madness. The beats are funky and the acid lines carry the
tune to a new style brought to you by the mind of Biochip C. This one
will fit right in with that slow breaks style Detroit techno like the
Drexciya stuff. Rockin good! Force Inc. list me there for awhile with
all that fast stuff from a few years ago but this one and a few others
like the Gizz TV stuff is forcing me back. (all puns intended)
The Octagon Man - Biting the Dragon's Tail on Electron
New label and new sound out of J Saul Kane. This has the same feel as
those old Octagon Man tracks on Vinyl Solution but better, beatier, and
trippier. The elecro breaks are at a premium on this one. If you like
breaks then you can't pass it up. It stomps and pumps so hard you can't
sit still. Guaranteed to rock your body!
Spacepimps - The Pimp on Clear
Well here it is! All you disbeleivers repent! This is the electro
record that prooves old style electro can be reborn. All I can say is
that the Soul Sonic Force wish they had a record this good. The jungle
track is lacking but the old school electro funk tracks rival the
classics like no other.
Alright I need some help on these two. I'm the kind of guy who need to
connect records with artist/countries/whatever so if someone can tell me
where these records are from and any other info I'd greatly appreciate it.
Kotai - Ring Hard on Elektro Music Department cat EMD002
This one is a very trackey minimal electronic deal. Only one cut on
each side but the interesting style makes up for only getting two
tracks. It reminds me a lot of the Dutch stuff out on U-Trax. It's on
thick vinyl and doesn't have a sleeve. More hints that this might be
Dutch. There's an AT&T logo on one side. It's not the type of record
you'd sit down and listen to at home but it will fit very nicely into a
set of old style Detroit and Chicago minimal tracks.
I have an orange vinyl little ditty here with no sleeve and no
identifying marks except for the catalog number JJ008. One side is too
hard for my tastes but the second side has two cuts on it that rock. One
is a Kraftwerkian elecro funk acid track and the second is a very trackey
acid thumper. I wish I knew the label at least.
Well that's it for now. I sure am excited about all the excellent music
out these days. I finally got Vulva - From The Cockpit and damn is it good.
